Student Bio: : Danilo Botero Lopez is a Ph.D. student at the University of Maine. He finished his Master’s in the same university in the summer of 2020 and in fall of 2020, he started to pursue his Ph.D. He landed in Maine in 2018 after working for two engineering companies in Colombia -his native country- for almost two years. He is very passionate about learning new things and always trying to apply his knowledge and skills to find solutions. He finished his bachelor at the National University of Colombia, where, he had the opportunity to work with David Zapata, a friend of his Ph.D. advisor Aaron Gallant. His focus is on the Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in ground improvement techniques.
Thesis title: Lateral spreading and basal stability of Column supported systems
